Lets say that you won a seat to the 2008 WSOP in a satellite at PokerStars.
So you now have a seat with a value of over $10 000. Would you take the once in a lifetime opportunity and go the the WSOP or would you chicken out and take the $W that you can sell for real dollars on the aftermarket? I think i would chicken out myself as $10 000 is a looooot of money for me at the moment. What would you do? |

This is a great thread. Maybe you should have started a poll so that people could vote for their option.
In my case i think i would go for the glory and if i would come home empty handed i would still have something to remember for the rest of my life. |

I LOVE POKER so I would have to go for the WSOP Main Event. I would treat it as a vacation experience and if I make it into the money, that would be a bonus. Just to say that I won my way to the WSOP and that I have played in the WSOP would be something to remember for the rest of my life.

I agree perfect poll opportunity
As to what i'd do well that would have to be take the seat. A true poker player would not pass the opportunity of such a great chance.

There is still a lot of time to make it there BritishPKR
![]() You're one win in a satellite away or one big win in a big tournament like PokerStars Sunday Million. Possibly sitting next to Daniel Negeanu or having the chance to make Phil Hellmuth have a tamtrum or losing focus because Erica Schoenberg or Jennifer Harman or Clonie Gowan or Shannon Elisabeth or.....are sitting next to me would be something to remember for sure ![]()

I would take the cash. First of all poker is only a hobby to me, not a lifestyle :P secondly i dont have such skills to play there :P
On the other hand an intermediate player is such unpredictable as Gus Hansen so i might get lucky :P

well my choice was an easy one.....
I wasn't given an option to take the money I won a seat to the Main Event + $2500 for travel expenses ( the rest I have to cover ) I won it at Pokerhost.com ... and part of their terms and conditions for the prize was that it would not have any cash value... ( not even the $2500 lol ) they are really keeping me in the dark about when I can buy in , were I'm staying... when they are going to fly me out ETC..... They won't purchase my seat until I show up to Vegas in the flesh , and possibly not until just HOURS before the tournament is about to start... I'm booked at the Rio for a few days... but not until the night right before the Main event starts.... and for only three days after that.... Then what ?? the tourny lasts two weeks lol so..... I fly into Vegas which will take me 7 hours with a stopover... get there... rush to meet some guy I've never talked to.... hopefully he buys my seat... then try to sleep... then start playing in the BIGGEST tourny of my life the next day at NOON its actually been quite the headache.... Don't get me wrong........ its a good problem to have... even if the manager ( the guy who's gonna buy my seat and give me $2500 ) won't return my calls LOL I'll keep you guys informed |
