It depends if you are willing to risk any of your own money or not. If you are ready to risk $1000 of your own cash for example there is not much use playing in the regular freerolls. But if you dont have any money to get started then the freerolls are a great way to get you started.

If you don't have a big bankroll then freerolls are a great way for you to aquire some playing capital. Players that have built a nice bankroll wouldn't bother with freerolls because they would be better off spending that time playing in bigger stakes tournaments.

I play em when waiting for a tourny to start or if i'm taking a break from playing with money. I usually play money for about 2 weeks then take a break so my game doesnt change up. I take that week to tweek my game and make sure im playing solid poker. This is where freerolls come in because i dont have to pay to get in.

I like to play freerolls too to try out different poker styles and try some different things that I don't want to test out in a bigger stakes tournament.
Freerolls don't have quite the calibre of play to help you improve your game a lot, but it still gives you a real live tournament setting to try some new things. It's still a great way for beginners to work on their game. |

I think that's what a lot of new players do. They play in the daily freerolls to work on the poker play and possibly win some money to play on the cash tables or tournaments.
I think the poker rooms use the freerolls to bring the new players back each day. It helps the poker rooms just as it helps the newbies. |

YEah, freerolls get filled up quick at every poker room and there's always thousands and thousands in the freerolls.
Then, right at the start they all start pushing all in with any cards they have to play some lottery poker. There will be times where almost the whole table is going all-in pre-flop. How do you learn from that? How do you play against that? |

You can't play against players going all in with 73o. BUT you can be patient and when they do push and you hold KK...you drive em in the dirt and take their chips. Simple, for the first hour you play tight then loosen up once most of the donks are gone. I've cashed in a few FTP freerolls this way. |
