Blogspot Vs Wordpress

I highly recommend using a wordpress blog and getting your own domain name before starting a blogspot. The main reason is that you will have total control over your site and not have someone controlling you or what you post. If you do a poker blogspot, the next year they might not allow gambling related topics on blogspot.

Yeah, a wordpress blog for poker or anything is a lot better. You have a lot more control and with themes they are better looking blogs.

They only benefit of blogspot is you don't need to pay for hosting.

You can get a poker created theme fairly cheap if you can't create one yourself or fins a free poker theme.

Google owns blogspot.com so they often favor them in Google search engine results. They are famous for hosting many "splogs" or spam blogs there used by Black Hat Seo bloggers.

Blogspot WAS in favour of Google SE, but blogspot lost that favour beacause of the reason you mentioned - Black Hat Seo bloggers.
Almost all blog hosting engines rised as a rocket, but as soon as blackhatters overtook them they fell down.

Going back to the topi i think there is no difference between these two blog engines. If i wanted to create a poker blog i would use blogspor. Or even better- my own domain and hosting.

I think gtycoon was saying getting your own domain and hosting and putting a wordpress blog on it is the best if you want to start a poker blog or any blog for that matter. You just have so much more control when you host your own blog and have your own domain.

There are so many poker blogs out there today and if you want to compete with the best you will at least need your own domain name. It looks so silly and cheap with the .blogspot.com or .wordpress.com extention.

Going to WordPress.org to download the WordPress blog script and uploading it to your own hosting with your own domain name is the best bet of course. There are many free themes for wordpress too, but maybe creating a custom poker theme is also a good bet
