Default Knowing your outs

When playing Texas Hold'em it's good to know how many outs you have. An out is any card that is still in the deck, that if drawn, will improve a your hand.

For example if you're holding Ad Jd and the flop comes 2d 7d 10s you would have a flush draw with four diamonds. Since there are 13 diamonds in a deck, that would leave 9 other diamonds in the deck, in other words nine outs to make a flush. If you think you could also win with a pair of aces or pair of Jacks, there are 3 more aces and 3 more jacks for another 6 outs, for a total of 15 outs.

You can figure out your outs for any number of poker hands by counting how many cards are left in the deck, that will complete your hand to win the pot.
